With all the publicity around Google’s dislike of paid links used to boosts search engine rankings you would have thought and new players into the market would be a bit more tactful.
It seems TNX have launched an international version of their link brokerage service. After reading their launch offer at Digital Point I took a look at exactly what they were offering.
Google say’s do not sell links to boost PR or rankings
Google have been quite adamant that you should not buy or sell text links for the purposes of boosting your sites rankings in the search engines or to increase your own PR. It seems TNX are quite clear in their intent as a text ad broker.
If you purchase 1000 links with “chicago florist” phrase in its body, Google will display your website in it’s results much higher when someone does search for chicago florist.
They also state…
For security reasons TNX cannot publish a list of its partners! Advertisers are able to see the exact location of links purchased only after it is being displayed on a website. Just in case, TNX makes it possible to remove a link from a specific page or website.
And to help you stay under the radar…
TNX advertisement should not have such words as “ads”, “sponsor”, etc. next to it
To me this sends out the wrong signals. They appear to be encouraging their customers to be a bit devious, how long will it be before Google notices.
TNX not recommended
I would not recommend using TNX, not necessarily because their service is bad as I haven’t used their service. The main reason is that they seem to be overtly goading Google and being associated with them may get you into trouble.
