I have been using TextLinkAds for some 6 months now and have been pleased with the results. As a text ad broker they manage the text ad sales for your site and any text ads you place on other sites.
Since it’s inception it has quickly become a favourite of many bloggers because it provides results and makes it easy for webmasters to handle their ad inventory.
Benefits of using TLA
The main selling point of TLA is that once installed there isn’t really anything for you to do except check your stats every now and then.
Not for everyone
Although I highly recommend this service it is not going to suit everyone. I have found that not every type of site is suited to Text link ads. Things to consider are Google Pagerank, the higher the better and the topic of your site.
You can use both sites and blogs with this service but using a blogging platform such as Wordpress will make it much easier to install the code they provide you with when you sign up.
Site wide, page and post ad
You are able to sell and buy text links that will appear on every page of your site or on a particular page. A recent addition has meant that Wordpress users can now sell ads on individual blog posts.
How much does the TLA service cost?
The major bone of contention with their service is that they charge a 50% commission on each link they sell on your behalf. When I first signed up I too thought this was a bit excessive but there are a few points that compensate for such a high charge.
Once set up you do not have to do anything, they handle everything for you. In fact the only thing you have to do is approve ads if you have this options set. TLA have a large reach and so will be better placed to sell ads on your behalf. This is income you would not have had if you hadn’t signed up.
