Selling your links at Private link sales

Chad Surles has launched a service where you can advertise your links for sale. For $2 you can post an ad that allows you to offer links from your site on a monthly or multi month basis.

The Good

I like the idea of a site that just offers link sales. Rather than a broker Private link sales works as more of a cross between an ad site for ads and a bit of brokerage thrown in. Any transactions and link placement is handled directly between members.

Having lots of varied links available in one place will surely save you time. You could go to Digital Point where sheer numbers make a viable market but the market is largely disorganised.

The Bad

Like any new site the traffic will be low and require lots of promotion to build traffic to make this site attractive to link buyers and sellers.

Need for improvement

Being a new site there are always improvements that can be made. The first of which would be some sort of search facility and the ability to sort links by price/PR/Alexa.

When you submit a site you have to enter all of the stat information manually. Having these details added automatically would speed up user submissions and give potential buyers more information. At the moment you can leave stats blank.

Conclusion

A nice idea and with promotion I think this will turn into a valuable resource. On thing I did notice is that many of the links seem to be overpriced. I find this strange when the whole idea of the site is to cut out the middle man and therefore allow sellers to earn more per link and buyers to get cheaper links.
