There has been a spate of bloggers and publishers letting us know how they are monetizing their sites. While this is interesting to know and often motivating how does it help us maximize the potential of our own sites.

I haven’t put this list in any particular order or given any values, not because it’s a secret but because it is not going to help you. The reason is that every site is different and every webmaster needs to test to see which combination of advertising works best for them.
How to get the best results from your ad space
You may have noticed that the list I have given you is very short. There are 10 times as many other options you could try. Do not just rely on a short list of methods other webmasters say are working well for them.
John Chow earns a significant amount from paid reviews. This works well for him as he has a very popular blog that ranks well in the SERP’s. Other webmasters are willing to pay the high amount he charges for a review as they know it will send them traffic and benefit their site in the search engine rankings.
Many webmasters will look at how well John is doing and think if they try paid reviews then they can also earn as much as John. Most webmasters will not earn anything near this amount as they do not have the same traffic and authority. For this reason you have to look carefully at the type of text advertising that will suit your site.
