Chitika as an Adsense replacement

Chitika can be used on the same page as Adsense but you can use Chitika eMiniMalls as a direct replacement for Adsense. Chitika eMiniMalls are available in similar sizes to Adsense boxes and so can directly replace them without messing up your page layout.

After selecting your ad size you can then select your category hint, this will allow you to display ads relevant to your content. The colours and fonts can be changed and a channel can be added to track your ad unit.

Adding an eMinimall ad unit to your site is just a matter of cutting and pasting some Javascript code. You can create several ad units of varying sizes to replace each of your Adsense ads on your site. Unlike Adsense you can have as many ad units on a page as you want.

With Chitika eMiniMalls you get paid when someone clicks on your ad, the CPC varies but from my experience they are comparable with Adsense. One thing to note is that they do audit clicks but where Adsense does this in real time Chitika does this at the end of each month.

Another point to note is that Chitika works best with sites that have content relating to the content of the ads, this is currently mostly consumer electronics. As it’s free to sign up you can see their categories for yourself to decide if they will match you site.
